The Moon is familiar enough to recognize and distant enough to absorb almost any story. That makes it a remarkable place to study not just what is true, but how we decide.
Why this exists
The internet usually offers two bad doors: believe the whole theory or laugh at the person asking. This field guide opens a third. State the strongest version, find the original record, expose the mechanism, and try the observation yourself when possible.
A careful answer is allowed to be surprising. It is also allowed to be incomplete.
The editorial charter
The same standard applies whether a claim is famous, fringe, persuasive, or absurd on first contact.
A strange observation can be real even when the first explanation is not. We keep the observation, then test competing mechanisms.
Primary records, later analysis, testimony, and entertainment are labeled separately so repetition cannot masquerade as confirmation.
Calculations expose their assumptions. Interactive tools return useful limits. Every conclusion says what would change it.
Unresolved does not mean impossible, and unexplained does not mean explained by a favorite theory. The gap stays visible.
How the work is funded
A reader should know the relationship before leaving this site, not after reaching checkout.
Products support observation, documentation, learning, or travel. None is sold as proof of a theory.
A partner cannot approve a conclusion, hide a relevant limitation, or buy a favorable verdict.
Accountability
Found a broken attribution, calculation error, better primary source, or undisclosed conflict? Identify the page and show the record. Material corrections receive a dated note.
